The Institute of Ambient Clutter exists to observe dust bunnies as they accumulate across your screen and certify the resulting Dust Accumulation Index using instruments only the Institute can see.
Every certificate generates its own Specimen Number, its own Dominant Composition, Static Cling Reading, and Tidiness Tier, filed permanently beside every previous, equally uncleaned reading.
Each reading measures Dominant Composition, Static Cling, and Tidiness Tier, regardless of how the dust bunnies actually formed, what they are actually made of, or whether digital dust can be meaningfully removed at all.
All readings are generated within accumulation ranges the Institute considers scientifically unimpeachable. There is no broom. There is no Institute.
Every screen begins at zero. Every certificate does not lower it. This is not measurement error. This is the entire measurement.
The Index has never gone down during a single recorded session, and the Institute does not fund research into why.
Specimens may be re-observed by dragging the cursor again. The Institute will apply exactly the same rigor to the re-observation as to the original observation, which is to say, none.
